Refund Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
This policy is part of the Terms of Service (§7). It says when money you have paid Nevora comes back to you, where it goes, and how long it takes.
1. What your wallet is
Your wallet holds money you have paid in advance for charging at chargers Nevora operates. It can be spent only on charging with Nevora. It cannot pay anyone else, be moved to another person's wallet, or be taken out as cash, and it earns no interest. That is what keeps it simple and safe — and it is why this policy returns money in the situations below, rather than whenever it is asked for.
2. A charge that went wrong — back to your wallet
If a session was charged wrongly — you were charged for a start that never happened, the charger failed and you were charged for energy you did not receive, you were charged twice, or the energy billed is more than the charger's own meter readings show — tell us within 30 days of the session (§9). We check the charger's opening and closing readings and the current your session was given, and if we were wrong we credit the difference to your wallet within 7 days of confirming it, with a credit note. Where the fault was ours, there is never a fee.
3. Unused balance — when we return it
We return the whole unused balance of your wallet:
- When you close your account — from the app or by writing to us. You do not have to give a reason; moving out of your society is the usual one. A closed account stays blocked for 90 days in case you change your mind: your balance stays in it, untouched, and comes back with it if you restore the account. When the 90 days end, we check the balance and refund it within the time in §5.
- When your society's committee ends your membership and you ask us to.
- When we stop serving your society, or permanently remove the charger you use and there is no other Nevora charger there for you.
- When we suspend or close your account, for any reason — less anything you owe us for charging.
- To your legal heir, if the account holder has died, on proof of death and of entitlement.
Money you add is for charging within a year, and charging always uses the money you added first. If money you added is still unspent 11 months later, we remind you. Any part of it still unspent 12 months after you added it, we return to you, as in §4 and §5: we never hold your money for longer than a year. Nothing else is taken away while your account is open.
We do not return a balance on request while your account is open and you can charge, we never pay a refund in cash, and we never pay it to anyone other than you (or your legal heir).
4. Where the money goes
Payments to your wallet are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited; refunds to your payment method go back through them.
Back to where it came from. Each amount you added is returned to the same UPI account, card or bank account it was paid from, most recent first, each up to what it was.
Or to a bank account in your own name. Banks do not accept refunds of payments made more than about six months earlier. For that part we pay by bank transfer, only into a bank account held in the account holder's own name. We will ask for the account number and the IFSC, and confirm the name on the account with a ₹1 test deposit; only if that cannot confirm it, a cancelled cheque showing your name. We never ask for a bank statement. We never pay into an account in anyone else's name, and never to a UPI ID for this part. The transfer's bank reference (UTR) appears in your wallet statement.
5. How long it takes
- We acknowledge your request within 48 hours.
- We approve it within 3 working days of having everything we need.
- The money leaves us within 10 days of approval.
- A refund to your UPI, card or bank then takes your bank's usual time — typically 2 to 10 working days. A bank transfer usually arrives the same or next working day.
6. While a refund is being made
- Your wallet is paused: no money can be added and no new charge started.
- A charge still running is ended and billed first.
- Anything you owe for charging is deducted from the refund, and shown.
- When you delete your account, it closes at once and the balance is held for 90 days (§3); the refund follows them. For every other reason, the refund is final once paid, and there is one per account closure.
7. Fees
There is no fee for any refund under this policy, whoever asked for it.
8. Keeping refunds honest
- Money only ever goes back to the payment method it came from, or to the account holder's own verified bank account.
- If your bank reverses a payment you made to your wallet (a chargeback), that amount leaves your wallet; money already refunded to you cannot also be charged back.
- If money was added using someone else's payment method without their permission, it goes back to that payment method, not to you.
- Any credit Nevora gives you free of charge is not refundable. (There is none today; if we ever offer it, we will say so when we do.)
